Alexander (Sasha) Jorge Grossman
Born into a musical family on January 28th, 2008, Sasha started playing the piano and the violin at age four.
First Prize Winner(Premio Assoluto 100/100) of the Osimo International Piano Competition in Italy in September 2018 in the child Prodigy category he studies piano at Special Music School under Natela Mchedlishvili and loves to perform and learn new repertoire.
Sasha loves to compose music and is currently writing a string quartet and a Piano Concerto. He loves opera and he sings in the Metropolitan Opera Children Chorus at Lincoln Center (Sor Angelica and Tosca 2018-19 season).
Sasha resides in New York where he attends the School of American Ballet. He studies the violin with his father Eric Grossman and for the past three summers he has played in a chamber music group as well as in the youth orchestra at the Mountains and Strings Chamber Music Retreat in Harriman Sate Park, Idaho. He has played the violin and piano in family concerts throughout the US.
In 2015 he was an actor in Vashti! The Musical with the Poppy Seed Players at Merkin Hall as well as il Figlio in the opera Sor Angelica with the Chelsea opera. At the Altamura Center for the Arts in New York Sasha played the role of little Mozart in the play "Mozart's Women" by Gudrun Buhler and the role of "Young Verdi" in Carmela Altamura's music drama "In Search of Desdemona".
In New York Sasha has performed at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, Kosciuszko Foundation, Merkin Hall, among others. He has played in numerous venues throughout the United States.
Besides music Sasha has a deep passion for Math, writing, reading, gym and he likes to play with his cat Puccini.
